The first maiden voyage of Heritage Palace on Wheels (HPOW) reached Jaipur today from Delhi's Safdarjang station this morning at Gandhi Nagar with 28 tourists on board. The HPOW on its first tour has 27 domestic tourist and 1 foreign tourist from South African. This train will run in two itineraries, first 3 Nights (Golden Tringle) Delhi--Jaipur-SawaiMahdopur-Agra-Delhi and 4 nights (Desert Triangle) Delhi-Churu-Bikaner-Jaipur-Agra-Dholpur-Delhi. Those who want to spend luxury time and cannot do it due to either shortage of time or spend less money cannow enjoy the ride on HPOW, especially weekenders, corporate executives etc. As the train can also be booked for facilities like Conferences, Board Meetings and even Pre Wedding Ceremonies. The tariff is now only 300USD or 19000 Rs per night per person.
The General Manager (HPOW), Mr. Pradeep Bohra, who is accompanying the tourists, informed that the train arrived at Jaipur's Gandhinagar Station on the last leg of its ‘Golden Triangle Circuit Tour’. Train officials were exhilarated over the maiden voyage of this train. The passengers were given a warm reception at the Gandhi Nagar Station with music playing and traditional garlanding of the tourists with all the gala celebration by the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) and Department of Tourism on their arrival.
This is the third luxury train in Rajasthan which is being run by RTDC. The HPOW will depart from Jaipur tonight, Saturday, 30 December from Durgapura Railway Station.
