Saffron Kesariya

Color Saffron (Kesariya) and other shades of yellow are regarded as auspicious colors. Color saffron is obtained from the precious saffron (kesar) leaves and in earlier times was regarded as a classy and rare color. With the Urbanization and easy availability of polyester printed clothes which are cheap and affordable, people are forgetting about the traditional colors and what they symbolize for. But still in rural areas of India you will find many people using these traditional colors in their day to day life.
I took this shot in a village of Rajasthan. This location was in front of the temple where these two old women’s in their traditional attire were purchasing vegetables from a much younger lady draped in a polyester printed sari. In this image we can clearly see that how plastic and polyester has made its space in villages of India also.

A coffee Cup.

Love Life Surrender

On a one fine winter morning I was just roaming around in one of the streets of Goner a village near Jaipur. I saw this small structure in ruins and started thinking how to photograph it? Then suddenly I saw this guy with his camel passing by from outside, I asked him to stop and pose for me. First he thought I was joking but then he stopped and posed & that’s how I got this photograph.http://www.ourjaipur.com/2015/02/love-life-surrender.html

Nomadic Life, Pushkar fair.

I took this photograph at the time of Camel fair in Pushkar. After taking this shot I went close to then to have some chit chat. The name of the guy is Badri he is the head of the family and told me that they are a nomadic family and they travel all around Rajasthan and nearby states with their Goat, Dog and a Camel. They earn by singing and dancing on the streets, basically they are in Entertainment business. When I asked him where are you going to go from here? He told me that he don’t know, He said that he don’t plan anything and he lives his life as it comes.
